NDT Suite is a set of Tools oriented to apply NDT in the Enterprise environment. NDT was applied in several real projects but the only way to offer a suitable methodology for companies is to offer suitable tools to support the development.The first solution offered was NDT-Tool. However, NDT-Tool was not a good solution in big projects for several reasons.
· NDT-Tool is a tool too closed to NDT. It covers and templates specific for NDT. However it does not support another very suitable UML models like activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, etc.
· NDT-Tool does not offer suitable environments to draw diagrams. In fact, it is necessary the use of other tools to draw UML diagrams.
These reasons oriented our Works in the development of NDT-Suite. This set of tools supports the complete life cycle and they also let verify and validate the application of NDT. The development of NDT-Suite started with the extension of NDT in order to cover other phases in the life cycle. With NDT ideas and taking some ideas from Métrica V3, a new methodological environment was developed.
NDT-Suite is composed by four tools:
NDT-Profile is a profile defined in Enterprise Architect. After a comparative study, this tool offered a suitable development environment. NDT-Profile offers a set of tool-box and artefacts to deal with NDT in Enterprise Architect.
NDT-Driver allows, taking a project developed by NDT-Profile, to execuete automatically the model-driven transformations of NDT. Thus, analysis artefacts can be obtained from requirements, and, from analysis, design results can be automatically obtained. NDT-Driver also generates some HTML profiles automatically.
NDT-Quality is a tool that, starting with a NDT-Profile file, checks if NDT rules and relations were follows correctly.
NDT-Report is a tool that let the generation of documents from a NDT-Profile file. Thus, the requirements, the analysis, the desing and the test document can be obtained.
